Snow White Abendroth

Having been ill for much of her pregnancy, Annabelle Abendroth was not expected to survive childbirth. However, she lived long enough to hold her daughter in her arms, and was overcome with joy at the beautiful child’s silky black hair and fair skin., and she used her last breath to christen the child Snow White. Unfortunately, Snow White would never come to know this story. After Annabelle’s death, Hans Abendroth wanted his beloved daughter to know the love of a mother, so he married a woman named Lydia Lamb. Lydia was a cold and calculating woman who’d never known real love herself, but she was so beautiful that Hans didn’t recognize her wickedness. Lydia was jealous of the attention her new husband gave the child, and instantly despised her, but Hans, still saddened by his first wife’s death, saw very little past his beautiful daughter. Not long after their marriage, pneumonia took Hans’ life and Snow White remembers very little of him. In fact, she can only remember how much he loved her.

Lydia abused Snow White throughout her childhood, forcing her to keep house from a young age and locking her inside when Lydia attended one of her many social functions. Snow White managed to make the best of everything, however, keeping wild birds and squirrels as pets, since Lydia would not let her out of the house to make friends. When Lydia wasn’t in earshot, Snow White sang to her animal friends, and this way she kept a cheery outlook on life. However, when Snow White turned 13, Lydia realized that her stepdaughter’s beauty would soon rival her own fading beauty, and she plotted the child’s demise. Snow White caught wind of Lydia’s devious plan, and managed to run away and be rid of her wicked stepmother once and for all.

Now a child traveling on her own, Snow White quickly learned that not everyone was as cruel as her stepmother. As she traversed the countryside, other travelers took pity for such a beautiful child on her own, and many kept her company. However, her life only began to take direction when she found herself ill in the territory of seven small monks who kept a shrine on their property. They nursed her to health, and taught her various first aid and healing techniques. Most importantly though, they pointed her into the direction of a pleasant city where she would fit in perfectly. Snow White arrived in Twilight City at the age of 15 and immediately enrolled in Hollow Bastion High School; it was the beginning of a wonderful new life for her.
